ok guys, these pants are a must-have! in my opinion, brown cords are the new jean for men. they add great variety & texture to your pants collection and being neutral in color, will go with a lot!
(my husband is such a good sport <3)
well, the rain is in full effect up here, and although it's so very tempting to throw on an oversized cozy sweater and slippers, today needed some layers & color. i just love these bright coral pants! olive is a great shade to pair with any bright color as it breaks up the intensity without taking away the pop. i threw in a few of my favorite accessories as well to complete the look.
note to self: cover your ankles when it's 41 degrees outside! (i'm still learning how to dress in this pacific northwest crisp-ness... this is no so-cal!)

every friday i'd like to feature a "piece of pop" ...not necessarily will it be something i own, but could be something fabulous i've spotted from a store, website, magazine, etc. that will put that sweet cherry on top of every outfit, home decor design, etc. what do you think?
your bit of pop doesn't always have to be a bold or bright color. it can be a unique pattern, texture, or accessory. this week's pop is essie's "good as gold" nail polish. it can add the perfect amount of sparkle to an everyday look as well as enhance a dressier night time look. not to mention the stuff never chips!
well, week 1 of the blog is complete. thanks for being a part of it! have a happy & blessed weekend.

mixing patterns has been quite the trend lately. doing so can be a bit tricky and will take some experimenting. if you're a little timid to go bold, here's an example of how to ease into it. go with two softer prints (mini polka dots + grey stripes), one can be an accessory, like the scarf here. and as always, don't forget your 'pop' (sweater color, jewelry, headband, etc.).
and now to introduce you to the love of my life...isn't he handsome?? i wanted this blog to touch on men's fashion as well, so he will show up on here from time to time as i seem to have a bit of a habit of dressing him up too...and, let's be honest, he's a way better model than me.
a blazer is a great way to dress up an outfit. i love this one because the green & navy plaid and red 'bit of pop' under the collar make it a little festive and perfect for this time of year. layer it with a chambray top, skinny jeans & boots and you've got a great church/work/date outfit. and btw, this whole "modeling" thing is a lot harder than it looks...
"she makes the day brighter...she leaves a little sparkle wherever she goes."
i'm just a simple girl inspired by everything fashion & design and this is my hope...to inspire others in my own little way as i share bits of my life's loves with you! there are so many fabulous and talented bloggers out there that i've been greatly encouraged by, so i hope you'll follow along as i establish my own journey.
...huge enormous thanks to my dear friends for helping design this site. Katie Bruce of Volente Deo Designs and Chris Teitzel of Cellar Door Media. thankful for you!
